Daniel Rosenthal

President & CEO
Dan was named the President & CEO of GCL in April 2023. He has founded or led high-performing businesses in multiple industries over the last two decades.
 
Before GCL, Dan served as a Board member and in multiple senior leadership roles at Root, Inc. (NASDAQ: ROOT), a technology-based provider of auto insurance solutions. He worked closely alongside Root’s founders to guide the company through growth and multiple funding rounds, including an IPO in October 2020.
 
Prior to Root, Dan co-founded Milestone Aviation in 2009, where he served in multiple roles including ultimately Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer. Milestone became the world’s largest helicopter financier with more than $3 billion in assets in 50+ countries before being acquired by GE Capital for $1.8 billion in 2015. Dan subsequently was responsible for four aviation-related subsidiaries of GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS), the world’s largest aircraft lessor.


 
Earlier in his career, Dan served in multiple leadership roles at NetJets. Prior to that, he was an attorney at Williams & Connolly LLP, where he was a certified NBA Players Association agent. 
 
Dan also co-founded Pelotonia, a leading nonprofit and annual bike ride that has raised $300+ million for cancer research since 2009. He served as Chairman from 2009-22 and continues to serve on the Pelotonia Board.

His grandmother Gloria Kaplow was an inspirational and prolific painter up until her passing in January 2024 at the age of 96. He loves looking at her paintings in his house and office.
